“For I know the thoughts I think toward you,” said God to Jeremiah. “Thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an unexpected end.” It is amazing to me that an almighty God knew us so intimately before we were even born! Furthermore, He thinks of us and knows us better than we know ourselves. It is evident all around, that God designed us all with uniqueness and set us apart from anyone else. Can you imagine His creativity? There are 7.8 billion people in the world today that God created and formed. He not only formed 7.8 billion people, but He made each one different from the rest. And to know that our Creator thinks about us. He has thoughts of peace and hope for us. It excites me to know that our God is omniscient and present for all of His creations. Not only is He present, but He desires the same kind of response from us. God wants us to seek Him and know Him the way that He knows us. God yearns for a people that is passionate and zealous for His kingdom agenda. God’s sovereignty is undeniable in Jeremiah 1:5. It states, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you; and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” God created us, and has sanctified us for many reasons. This scriptures shows that He ordained Jeremiah as a prophet. All of God’s creations were ordained for a purpose, and God wants us to seek after Him to know our purpose. Unfortunately, not all 7.8 billion people are seeking God for their purpose in their lives. There are only 2.4 billion people in the world that claim to be Christians, and less than a third of them actually believe they have an ordained purpose for Christ. So, there are Christians out there that are living their life without knowing their true identity in Christ. These statistics break my heart, and I know they break God’s heart as well. I write this because I got to see firsthand this week someone living out their purpose in Christ. My God bump moment this week was listening to a 7th grade student of mine preach the word of God to fifty students during our morning bible study. He loves to tell people about God, and wants to lead bible study as often as I will let him. He knew His purpose at the age of 11. It started in my 6th grade classroom. He continues to lead and to tell people about God. I love listening to Him and watching His passion for Christ. At the end of his lesson this week, I got to explain the importance of walking with Christ. I also expressed that any of them could come to me if they wanted prayer or more importantly if they wanted to know Christ as their Savior. Walking back to my classroom that morning, I got God bumps all over me, because I realized I am living out my purpose as well. I get to be a facilitator for these young prophets, preachers, and teachers that God is raising up, and I get to be a mentor to them! It is such a joy to know that God is still moving in our younger generations. Sadly, we only hear the negative, secular news, and it has depicted only darkness in the world today. I can testify that there is a powerful movement of God in this generation. They are desperately yearning for His peace and hope that He thinks toward them. My prayer is that you are seeking God to know your purpose, and remember that God created you and ordained you. Amen!
Dear God,
Thank you so much for creating us in such an intimate way. Thank you for always thinking of us. Help us to do the same for you. For You are our Almighty Father, and You are an awesome God. Love, Me.
