What is keeping you from identifying with Christ? Fear, time, or complacency? What does it mean to fully identify with Christ? Identifying with Christ doesn’t mean just being saved and believing in Him, but living as Christ lived. It is standing with Christ and being devoted to His cause. Christians are called to be set apart in a dark world. In Matthew 5:14-15 it says, “You are the light of the world, A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Christ came as a light for all, and if we have truly surrendered our life to Him, we are the light for the lost. It is hard for us to be a light if we are holding on to darkness. What is the darkness you are holding on to? What is keeping you from living completely for Christ? If you are bound to sin we are not living in the promised freedom that is only found in Christ. You will find freedom if you seek Him and His kingdom first in your life. In seeking Him, you will find His righteousness, and it will be added to you. Then, you can stand and identify with Christ! Shining a light for the lost world around you.
Dear Lord,
Thank you for all that You are doing in our lives and in the world around us. In a world of chaos and evil, we can stand fearless with You. Help us to know our purpose and to stand for You and Your kingdom. Our true identity is always found in You. Amen.
