Some of my favorite scriptures are found in chapter 56 and 57 of Psalms. Psalm 56: 8-10 says, “You number my wanderings; Put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your book? When I cry out to You, Then my enemies will turn back; this I know because God is for me.” Psalm 57: 2-3 states, “I will cry out to God Most High, To God who performs all things for me. He shall send from heaven and save me; He reproaches the one who would swallow me up. God shall send forth His mercy and His truth.” It is so comforting to know that when I cry out God hears me! The same God who cared about David’s tears, cares about mine! He cares about all of His children’s tears. These scriptures remind me of when my boys were small. They used to love climbing on everything or jumping off the most challenging objects. Of course, these challenges would end up with one of them getting hurt. Without hesitation, I would pick them up, wipe their tears away, and hold them close to me. I wanted them to know that no matter what size the “bobo” I would be there to care for them. Even as teenagers, I have held my boys after broken hearts or disappointments. It’s not easy to see your child hurting. We want what’s best for them, and like a parent comforting their child, God demonstrates the same tender love and mercy for His children. We are a blessed people with an amazing Heavenly Father. He offers His comfort and love no matter what we have done or what we are going through. His mercy endures forever! God offers this mercy to whosoever believes in Him and chooses to accept Him as their Savior. God is for YOU.
Dear God, Thank you so much for your mercy. You have given us the shadow of Your wings to take refuge in and to find our peace. You have loved us unconditionally and faithfully. Help us to see how much You love us and desire for us to seek You. Your mercies are new every morning. All we have to do is ask You. Thank you Father.
Love, Me.
